Virginia Hutcheson, 81, of Crossville, passed away Jan. 30, 2004. Funeral services were conducted Feb. 5 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Pikeville. The Rev. Roland Smith officiated, with special music by Susan Swafford and Debbie Hyder.
Mrs. Hutcheson was born April 17, 1922 in Sheffield, AL, the daughter of Gilbert P. and Lora Safley Cope.
She was a homemaker and a charter member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Hutcheson of Crossville; sons and daughters-in-law, Ted and Arlene Hutcheson of Madison, AL and Robert and Glenda Hutcheson of Jacksonville, TX; daughters and sons-in-law, Billie K. and Eric Winckler of Casco, ME and Lora J. and Ben Sorrels of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Ellen, Sara, Mary, Abby, William, Kimberly and Virginia; and great-grandchildren, Lauren, Elizabeth and Daniel.
Pallbearers were Mark Witt, Cranston Moses, Hansel McDonald, Clint Allred, Donnie Johnson and Bob Tidwell.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be made to the Central Baptist Church building fund or to the Gideons.
Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC was in charge of the arrangements.
