MUNCIE--Former resident Ernest S. Norris, 81, of North Fort Myers, Fla., died Friday.
Mr. Norris, who was born in Tennessee, lived in Muncie for 44 years before moving to Florida in 1988. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired in 1984 from Warner Gear after 20 years of employment. He was a member of Warner Gear Sympathy Club and Southside Church of God.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Phyllis Norris; a daughter, Jerri Ricketts (husband: Jim); four sisters, Martha Raines, Dee Linder, Myrtle Franklin and Ida Garrett; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
A son is deceased.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory. Calling will be an hour before services today at Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel. Garden View Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
