John Bryan Spurrier Jr., was born Feb. 27, 1931, to John Bryan Spurrier and Alice (Wickersham) Spurrier in Seminole, OK.

He graduated from Seminole High School and attended Seminole Junior College. He served in the Army in Korea.

He married Laura Deloris “Dee” Workman March 12, 1951, in Seminole. He served on the school board in Seminole and on the board of Seminole Junior College. He was a Scoutmaster in both Seminole and Hennessey, OK., and a member of First Baptist Church of Hennessey and Coronado Masonic Lodge.

John and Dee moved their family to Hennessey in 1971, where he worked for Exxon for 42 years, retiring in 1994.

A resident of Hennessey he died at the age of 76, Dec. 2, 2007.

He was survived by his wife, Dee; two sons, Steven Bryan Spurrier and Terry Edward Spurrier; two brothers, Glenn Brown, and Bob Spurrier; two sisters, Bunny VanBuskirk and Mary Praskievierz; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son; Philip Warren Spurrier.

Funeral services were at First Baptist Church, Hennessey, with burial at Hennessey Cemetery.
