Leona I. Montgomery, age 82, of Oskaloosa, passed away Saturday morning at the Good Samaritian Health Center in Ottumwa.
She was born May 6, 1905 in Newton, Iowa to Peter and Martha Mudgett Zickel. On January 3, 1959 in Winterset, Iowa she married Dan Montgomery. Leona had been employed by the Rolscreen Company until her retirement. Leona, for the past nine months, has been making her home with her daughter, Bonnie in Ottumwa, Iowa.
She is survived by one daugher, Mrs. William (Bonnie) Dalbey of Ottumwa, Iowa; and one son, Daryl Walker of Winteset, Iowa; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters; Lettie Bond of Oskaloosa and Arlowene Schultz of Ewart, Iowa; also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, William Schakel, who passed away in 1947; Dan Montgomery, who passed away in 1980; four sisters; three brothers; and one granddaughter.
