On August 24, 2013, James E. Graham, Sr., 86, of McCordsville, passed away and stepped from this life onto streets of gold. His goal of eternity in heaven was attained. He was born July 4, 1927 in Indianapolis to the late Emery and Mildred (Wilmoth) Graham. Jim enjoyed riding his motorcycle and took many trips to Minnesota to visit his parents and go fishing, another one of his enjoyments in life. He retired from the Chrysler Corporation in 1984 after 32 years of service. After retirement Jim worked as a handyman in the area for many years. He was kept busy and was well-respected by all for the excellence of his work. Jim loved to work with wood and made many items for his family and friends. Jim was an active member of Fortville Christian Church, serving as a trustee, elder, teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, worship song leader and filled many other duties as called upon. Jim loved serving his Lord and Savior in any capacity needed. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1945 to 1950. Jim is survived by his wife Louise (Fausett) Graham whom he married on December 21, 1947; son James E. (Janice) Graham, Jr. of New Whiteland; daughter Susan Kay (Larry) Lucas of Fishers; granddaughter Amanda Lynn (Greg) Landwerlen of Carmel; great-grandson Tyler Wesley Bell; brothers Walter Graham of AR and Orville (Donna) Graham of Decatur, IL; and sister Vivian (Dan) Kittrell of AR. He was preceded in passing by sisters Nancy Lentz, Betty Ross, Doris Lee and Martha Burger; and brothers Billy and David Graham.

Funeral Information

Friends may call on Tuesday August 27, 2013 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. A funeral service will begin at 10 am on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
