Jackie Charles Christian, 73, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church in Turkey with Roger Arnold and Melvin Clinton officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery in Turkey. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Jackie was born Feb. 24, 1940, in Turkey to Albert and Eunice Christian. He married Bonita Lyles in 1968 in Amarillo. They spent their married life of 45 years in Amarillo.

Jackie began work at Young Auto Supply as a teenager in Turkey. He sold auto parts in Amarillo beginning at Strauss Frank Automotive and spent more than 15 years at Gene Cline Motor Parts. He made many lifelong friends along the way.

Jackie was known by his family and friends for his big heart and selfless generosity. He was willing to do anything for anyone, and always did. Jackie had a fun-loving nature and joyful sense of humor. He treasured his family, and will be remembered as a loving and devoted brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle.

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Edna Christian Blakney; and two brothers, Glynne and Ronnie.

Survviors include wife, Bonita; a daughter, Paula Abbott; a granddaughter, Chloe Abbott; a brother, Larry and wife Toni; two sisters-in-law: Barbara Christian and Betty Christian; a brother-in-law, A.B. Lyles and wife Cheryl; and countless friends, family, nieces and nephews, including Anna Jean, Charlie, Robert, D'Lynn, Cynthia,
Nick, Craig, Carla, Cody, Amanda and Aaron.

The family suggests memorials be to Dreamland Cemetery, 914 Estelline Ave., Turkey, TX 79261, or a charity of choice.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. A viewing from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday will precede the service at First Baptist Church in Turkey.
