JODI LYNN JACKSON, 35, of Springfield, peacefully passed from this life to her Heavenly Home, Sunday morning, August 25, 2013 in her residence with her family by her side. She was born in Springfield on June 9, 1978, the daughter of Roger and Jeanie (Thompson) Jackson. She attended Reid School, graduated from Springfield North High School in 1996, and received her B.S. from Cleveland State University. One of Jodi's passions was her chosen career path as a special education teacher, first at Snowhill Elementary School and then at Stebbins High School. She was also an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Her glowing smile, along with her unwavering strength and determination were a constant inspiration to those whose lives she touched. Jodi loved her "favorite and only" niece, Ohio State football, Jimmy Buffett concerts, bluegrass festivals, and above all, her family and friends. Survivors in addition to her parents of Springfield include her grandma, Betty Thompson; sister and brother-in-law, Jami and Jason Meyer of Fort Loramie; niece, Lynzee Keeton; aunts and uncles, Pam Thompson, Mike and Kathy Thompson, Larry and Chris Jackson, Peggy and Charles Hall, and Sue and Keith Terry; and many cousins. A special thanks to family, friends and Hospice of Dayton for the love, care and support for Jodi during her battle with brain cancer. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Roger Herrig officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park after the service. Memorial contributions may be made in Jodi's name to Trinity Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, 1612 S. Belmont Ave., Springfield, OH 45505 or James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, 660 Ackerman Road, P.O. Box 183112, Columbus, OH 43218-3112.
