Wallace Chabert Jr.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off for Wallace Leon Chabert Jr., 77, a native and resident of Cut Off, who died at 12:35 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27.

Burial was in the church Cemetery.

He was the husband of Aline Mollere Chabert; father of Janice C. Frazier; brother of Harris, Walter and Leroy Chabert, Noeda C. Plaisance, Dorine C. Cheramie and Isabelle C. Bruce. He is also survived by two grandchildren, three step grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emily Guidry and Wallace Chabert Sr.; two brothers, Alidor and Luke Chabert; a sister, Alice Chabert; and a step grandchild.

He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart and was active in the Cursillo Movement. He was an altar server and a member of the Holy Name Society and Hospital Ministry and a 3rd Degree Honorary member of Knights of Columbus Consel No. 3150.

Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland was in charge of arrangements.
