Francis J. Allen, a resident of Scioto Mills for over thirty years passed away at 3:30 yesterday afternoon at his home, following a stroke of paralysis last Friday, from which he never regained consciousness.

Francis Allen was born march 26, 1871, in Green county, Wis. He was the son of Aaron and Sarah Binger Allen. He was united in marriage at Monroe, Wis., on the 10th of August 1893 to Miss Carrie Thruman, who survives as do the following children, Mrs. Clarence Springman, Red Oak, Glenn Allen, Freeport, four brothers, William H. Allen of Stevens Point, Nathaniel, of Martintown, Wis, Alpheus, of Omaha, Neb. and E. Charles Allen of Forreston. One son, Harold and tow sisters, Mary Allen, and Mrs. Elizabeth Keller, preceded him in death. There is one grandchild, Robert Springman, of Red Oak.

Mr. Allen worked for the Illinois Central railroad at Martintown, Wis., for a number of years and in 1905 he moved to Scioto Mills, where he was section foreman, holding that position until Oct. 1, 1933, when he was retired and pensioned on account of ill health after thirty-five years of service.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the Walker Mortuary and interment will be made at Oakland. The body will be at the home in Scioto Mills Friday.
