Elsie was the fifth child of James William "Will" Chase and Martha Custis White Chase. She graduated from then-Oklahoma A&M and married Lester Kilpatrick. They lived in New Jersey and Virginia until retirement when they returned to Oklahoma. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son Kenneth. She would have celebrated her 101st birthday in less than two months. She loved to cook and entertain and was known for her gingerbread men cookies and her wise sayings. She taught for many years. The fun of being invited to her house for dinner was that you never knew who else she had invited, and it was sure to be an interesting evening. She was survived by two children Lester Louis and Maritha. Lester Louis died in July after Elsie's death in April, 2007.
