THE LITTLE ONE PASSED AWAY
-------
BABY SON OF DR. AND MRS. J.E. HUNTER DIED EARLY THIS MORNING.
----------
After an illness of several weeks, James Eber, aged 16 months and 4 days, little son of Dr. and Mrs. J. E. Hunter, 509 South Tennessee street, was claimed by death at 12:30 o'clock this morning. Every thing that medical skill and loving hands could do was done to prolong the little fellow's life, but of no avail. This home that was filled with happiness as a result of the presence of this baby, has been change to one of sorrow and gloom. The death angel crept silently into the home of Dr. and Mrs. Hunter, during the dark hours of the night and the spirit of their darling child was wafted to the great beyond where pains and suffering are unknown.
These editors join with the numerous friends of Dr. and Mrs. Hunter and the grand parents, Hon. and Mrs. J. R. Gough, in extending sincere sympathy and profound sorrow in this their sad bereavement.
Funeral services were held at the family residence this afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Walter P. Jennings pastor of the First Christian church assisted by Rev. E. B. Fincher pastor of the First Presbyterian church. Interment
followed in Pecan Grove cemetery. The floral offerings were profuse and beautiful.
The pallbearers were: Active--A. Coker, Avery Dowell, L. A. Scott, and E.W. Merritt; honorary--W.T. Bolton, Dr. C.N. Abbott, J. Ed Rhea, Edgar Bush, Yancy Powell, O.C. Stewart, Dr. F.G. Hedges and G.M. Oneal.
The Sam J. Massie undertaking company was in charge.
