She married Thomas L. Johnson on 9/21/1879 in Missouri. They had one son, William H. Johnson in Dec 1881. Thomas then moved the family to Roswell, New Mexico where their second son, James Walker Johnson was born in Sept 1883. During her second pregnancy, Frances worked for James McMurty Miller, the country's largest sheep ranch owner, taking care of his wife Sarah. Mrs. Miller was pregnant with her 5th child. Mrs. Miller birthed her child in Nov 1883, but passed away that same day from complications of childbirth.
Shortly after, Thomas (Frances' husband) decided to move his family to Little Rock, Arkansas where he could be a doctor. They began the trip, but only reached Smith, Arkansas before Thomas became sick with Malaria and died in 1884.
Frances took her sons and moved back to Missouri to live with her family. James M. Miller, having heard about Thomas' death, went to Missouri and courted Frances. They were married on 7/4/1885.
Frances & James Miller had 4 children; Roy J. Miller, twins Jaffa & Prager Miller, and daughter Grace Miller. Their son Roy died of a burst appendix at the age of 27. Their son's Jaffa & Prager both went into politics; one surving as State Senator, the other running for State Governor twice.
Frances was preceeded in death by husband Thomas L. Johnson, husband James M. Miller, son Roy J. Miller, and son James W. Johnson.
