________
Old People Attend Funeral
The attendance of elderly people and old-time residents of Fairmount was a remarkable feature of the funeral of Mrs. Jane Carter, age 82, which was held Monday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Davidson, the latter being a daughter of the deceased. This was made possible, to a large extent, by the kindness of Mr. Davidson in going after some of the older ones in his automobile.
Rev. W. D. Baker, of Wabash, preached the funeral sermon from the text, "For me to live is Christ, to die is gain." He was assisted by Rev J. J. Fred and Rev S. C. Kinnison. "Abide With Me", "Asleep with Jesus" and "Thy Will be Done" were sung.
The pallbearers, with the exception of one, were granddaughters of the deceased.
Rev. and Mrs. Hillman Carter, of Payne, Ohio; Sebborn Davidson, of Marion; H. Carter and family, of Warren; Mrs. May Thomas, of Marion; Mrs. Johanna Gregg, of Fowlerton; Will H. Carter, of Elwood; Charles E. Carter and Louis S. Carter, of Anderson were out of town relatives in attendance.
