Emmett served in the Civil War as a guard on Johnson Island, a Civil War POW camp on Lake Erie in Ohio. In later years he listed his occupation as "sailor", and he captained schooners on Lake Erie. Emmett and his wife, Isabelle, also had a son named George Hardy Whitney. He was born Oct. 2, 1871 and died in 1872. I cannot add George Hardy to Findagrave because I do not know where he is buried.
Susie C Whitney is the daughter of Isabelle and Emmett.
Raymond Emmett is the son of Annabelle and Emmett.
