EDDINGTON - Jesse Paul Wood, 80, died Aug. 19, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 25, 1933, in Clifton, the son of Gus and Madeline (Spencer) Wood. Jesse attended School in Old Town.
He is a U.S. Navy veteran serving on the USS Putnam 757.
After being discharged, Jesse worked at the Eastern Fine Paper Company until his retirement in 1996. While serving in the Navy Jesse traveled around the world.
Jesse is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kathleen (Robertson) Wood; two children, Kathleen "Kathy" Day of Bangor, and Roger Wood and his fiancée, April Briggs, of Eddington; two grandchildren, Dan and Jenny Day; one great-granddaughter, Olivia; one great-grandson Maddox; sisters, Marie Kristopik, Gloria Jones, Nancy and her husband, Bill McLaughlin, and Shirley Francis; two brothers, Louis Wood and his wife, Brenda, and Fred Wood and his wife, Debbie; brothers-in-law, Frederick, Calvin, Philip and Edward Robertson; stepsister, Jerri and her husband, Stan White; and stepbrother, George Gonyer.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, James Wood; sister, Linda Morrison; stepfather, William Gonyer; brother-in-law, Arnold Robertson; and his in-laws, Fred and Louise Robertson. The family would like to thank David, Larry, and Ron at the Bangor VA Clinic.
