Donald J. Flamm Sr.

BALLANTINE, MT. ----- Donald J. Flamm Sr., 69, of Ballantine passed away Tuesday evening, March 30, 1993, at St. Vincent Hospital of a heart attack.

He was born Dec. 27, 1923, in Billings, MT., the son of Herbert and Sarah Deliah Flamm.

He was raised on Squaw Creek south of Huntley and in the Huntley area.
He graduated from Huntley High Project School in 1941.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Following his discharge. he went to work for the CB&Q Railroad, and he worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad and the Burlington Northern.
He worked as a depot agent and telegraph in Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa.
He retired in 1982, after 38 years with the railroad.

He married Louise Dixon Kukes on Oct. 31, 1986, at the Natural Bridge on the Boulder River.
his hobby was raising birds, especially pheasants and fancy pigeons.
He enjoyed playing pool, keno machines, hunting and fishing.
He was a member of the Worden VFW Post.

Survivors include his wife, Louise; four sons, Joe Flamm of AZ., Don J. Flamm, Jr., of Helena, MT., John Flamm of Ballantine, and Vincent Flamm of Helena, MT.; two daughters, Theresa Oltrogge of Forsyth, MT., and Rita Oltrogge of Ballantine; two stepsons, Patrick J. Kukes of Clancy, MT., and Daniel J. Kukes of Bellingham, WA.; 19 grandchildren; two step granddaughters, four great grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Flamm of Houston, TX., and Faye Flamm of Burley, ID.; one sister, Naomi Ruby of Salt Lake City, UT.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 2, 1993, at the Pleasantview Cemetery in Ballantine MT.,
with VFW military honors.

Smith Downtown Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

The casket is closed at his request.

Memorials may be made to Family Services of Billings, MT.,
in lieu of flowers.
