Robert Teague was the son of Michael and Janice Teague. The 1850 US Census show Robert, Decatur, and Mary E. living with Michael as Janice must have died. Robert's grave is located in a wooded area off Blackberry Mtn. Road in Gilmer county. The GPS coordinates, 34.621484, -84.435594.

The grave shows Rob't Teague served in Co. G of the 145th Indiana. According to Civil War Records, Robert joined a Georgia Unit but was later captured, swore oath to the United States and was released. The Confederates took him into custody as a traitor and sentenced him to serve the remainder of the war north of the Ohio River. He then joined the 145th Indiana Unit whose job was guarding the Railroads. The war ended and the 145th Indiana unit mustered out at Cuthbert, GA.

He may have been sick and possibly died not long after returning home to Ellijay, GA.

According to the Gilmer Historical record, Michael and first wife Janice are buried at this family cemetery. Only three markers have names, Robert Teague, Nancy Chastain Teague, and Lydia Teague.
