Thomas Timmons East, SR, was born December 19, 1889, in Archer City, Archer County, Texas to Edward Hudson East and Hattie Regan. Thomas stood 6ft. 1 in. tall, had blue eyes, red hair and a light complexion.

He was married to Alice Gertrudis Kelberg on January 30, 1915 in New Casa Grande, Rancho Santa Gertrudis.

They had three children, Tom T., Robert Claude, and Alice Hattie. Thomas was a ranchman in Kleberg County, Texas. He enlisted in the Texas Rangers as a SPECIAL RANGER om April 18, 1918 thru January 15, 1919; January 24, 1919, thru December 1919. His commission was renewed.

Thomas was a partner in Russell and East Cattle Company and son-in-law to R. J. Kleberg, Sr, an early King Ranch manager. In March 1918, bandits raided his ranch near Hebbronville, Jim Hogg County, Texas.

Law enforcement relatives were Ranger Arthur Lee East, brother; Ranger Roy E. East, brother. Thomas Timmons "Tom" East died November 20, 1943, in Kleberg County, Texas. He was buried in San Antonio Viega (old San Antonio Ranch Cemetery), Hebbronville, Jim Hogg County, Texas. (by Nancy E. Brown)
