Mary Hoffer Sackman was born July 20, 1890 in Ashley ND, the daughter of John and Susanna Schlabsz Hoffer. Following the family move to Montana, she attended school on Cabin Creek. December 16, 1930, she married John Sackman at Cabin Creek, after which they lived southeast of Mildred, later moving to farm southeast of Terry. In 1989 she moved to Miles City to be near her daughter, entering TLC in 1992, where she since remained.
She was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Women, taught Sunday school many years, enjoyed gardening, reading, crafts, sewing and time with family and friends.
Mrs Sackman died December 4, 1999, at TLC Care Center in Miles City. Survivors include a daughter, Delores Adrian, Tonasket WA; a son, Herbert (LaVonne) Sackman, Terry; a half-brother, David Hoffer, Fallon; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
