Ershell Columbus Vance, 56, of Jewell
Ridge, died Dec. 9,1993 in a Richlands
hospital.
Born at Swords Creek, he was
a son of the late Neely Estel and
Eva Victoria Richardson Vance.
He had been a resident of Jewell
Ridge for the past 16 years, moving
from Swords Creek. He was a
member of the Pine Creek Log
Church and was employed as an
electrician by the Lick Branch
Coal Company at Whitewood.
He was preceded in death by
his first wife, Dorothy Iris Stiltner
Vance; sisters, Ada Vance
Keen and Elizabeth (Betty)
Christian; and one brother, Clell
Vance.
Survivors: wife, Dorothy Grace
Thomas Vance; daughters, Dorothy
Vanesa Vance and Victoria
Virginia Vance, both of the
home, Edith Charlene Pinkerton
and Sandra Kate Dye, both of
Cedar Bluff; sons, Steven Matthew
Vance of the home, Ershell
Steven Vance, Scott Edo Vance
and Kenneth Bradley Thomas,
all of Jewell Ridge, Joseph Alexander
Thomas of Doran; sisters,

The funeral was conducted
Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Honaker
Funeral Home Chapel in Honaker
with the Rev. Carl Howell
and the Rev. Randy Honaker officiating.
Burial followed at the Greenhills
Memory Gardens at Claypool
Hill.
