Mr. Clell P. Vance, age 66, of Williamsburg, Kentucky passed away Thursday morning at his home.
Born in Russell County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Neeley and Tora Richardson Vance.

He had resided in the Swords Creek area most of his life and had lived in Williamsburg for one year.
He was a World War II Army veteran and was the recipient of the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal and the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3167 of Williamsburg and was also a member of the Pine Creek Pole Church at Swords Creek, Virginia.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nella Welch Vance of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Waldron (Teresa) Charles of Middlesboro, Kentucky, Mrs. Randy (Shirley) Honaker of Belfast, Virginia, Mrs. Byrd (Pamela) Cole of King George, Virginia; three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Childress of Swords Creek, Virginia, Mrs. Queen Jackson of Jewell Ridge, Virginia and Mrs. Trudale Ringstaff of North Tazewell, Virginia; three brothers, Jack Vance of Pinellas Park, Florida, Rev. Trevert Vance of Swords Creek and Ershell Vance of Jewell Ridge, Virginia; five grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Richardson, Rev. Howard Reynolds and Rev. Dan Schelling officiating. Interment followed in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Patton Crosswhite VFW Post 6975 of Bristol conducted military graveside rites. Relatives and friends served as pallbearers. Honaker Funeral Home was in charge.
