Marilyn Perkins, 69, of Mystic passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Wayne County Hospital.

Marilyn was born in Muscatine, Iowa on August 11, 1944 to John & Madge(Inglish)Vaira. She married Dean Perkins on March 18, 1961 in Lancaster, Missouri. Marilyn was formerly an office manager at the Appanoose County Public Health Office in Centerville.

Marilyn enjoyed collecting Antiques with her family. She was a member of Business of Professional Women, Iowa Association of School Boards(District Vlll Director), Past president of Centerville School Board, P.E.O., Tri-T. Marilyn was nominsted by Governor Terry Brandstad to the School Budget Review Committee for Iowa.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Dean of Mystic, two sons: Brian Perkins of Centerville and Lt.Col. John Perkins and his wife Pam of Johnston, four grandchildren: Nathaniel, Jacob, Katiyn and Nickolas Perkins, and her mother-in-law, Dorothy Perkins of Centerville. She was Preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Paul Perkins.

Marilyn was cremated and no srvices are planned at this time. A private interment of her ashes will be held at Numa Cemetery at a later date. The family has requested no memorials to be given at this time.
