Joseph Foles Meehan, Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep at dawn Sunday morning, August 18, 2013. Joe started his long and remarkable life as Little Rock's New Year's Baby, January 1, 1931.

An early job as a soda jerk at Neel Drug sparked an interest in Pharmacy and after a stint in the Army during the Korean War, Joe earned a degree in Pharmacy. He practiced as a Pharmacist in Little Rock for over forty years, a job he was well suited for since he was truly a people person, never met a stranger and loved to help folks. He was the go-to-guy for many of his neighbors, lending a hand or an ear whenever he was needed. Joe had many hobbies throughout his life, but his most enduring was music- an informal jam session on Greers Ferry became the Choctaw Crawdads, a band which has played together for almost thirty years.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Anna Mary and Joseph Meehan.

His survivors include his beloved wife of fifty-nine years, Beulah Meehan; his sister, Sharon Holmes of Redondo Beach, California; his sons, Joe and Keith Meehan of Little Rock; daughter, Valerie Meehan of Truman; grandchildren, Jason Ballard, Travis Meehan, Amy Milam, Nick Miller; and two great-grandchildren, Stormie and Sydney Milam.

Visitation is Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church Chapel. Funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery.
