Local Women Dies Of Heart Ailment

Mrs. Maria Kathrina Balzer, 71, a native of Russia, died at 6:05 p.m. Friday night at a local hospital from a heart ailment.
She had been in the hospital since May 16.

She was born on Feb. 11, 1873 at Weismiller, Russia, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Young.

She was married to George Balzer on Dec. 27, 1892 and in 1907 they came to the United States to live in New York.
Later they moved to Hoisington, KS., where they lived and then for two and a half years and then to Garden City KS., for a similar length of time.

They moved to Worden in 1913 and then to Billings in 1937.

She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Billings.

Surviving besides her widower, are her sons, Alex, Jacob, and John Balzer all of Worden; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church at a time to be announced later.

Interment will be at the Pleasantview Cemetery, in Ballantine, MT.

The body is at Smith's Funeral Home.
