Joe Nolan, 66, Former Police Officer, Dies

      Joseph E. Nolan, 66, Crow Wing county DFL chairman, died at his home at 502 Northwest 6th yesterday.
      Mr. Nolan was a former special Municipal Court judge, a former Brainerd police officer and a former deputy sheriff.
      He was born March 16, 1903, in Brainerd, and had been a lifetime resident.
      Mr. Nolan was also a member of St. Francis Catholic church, Elks lodge and the Minnesota Police association.
      He is survived by his wife, Gladys; one son, Joseph, Jr., Chula Vista, Calif; two brothers, Thomas, Reno, Nev., and Emmett, Aurora, Ill., and one sister, Mrs. Alice MacMilllan, Hamilton, Ontario. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
      Funeral services willl be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Catholic church, the Rev. Dennis McEnery officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
      There will be a rosary at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday afternoon and evening. (Brainerd Daily Dispatch, 28 November 1969, p. 1)
