MOORESBORO — Mr. Bobby “Poss” Barnes, 73, of 2502 McCraw Road, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at Fair Haven Nursing Center.
A native of Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Ben and Lily Foster Barnes. He was retired from Duke Power Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Barnes Phillips.
He is survived by his wife, Reba Martin Barnes of the home; two daughters, Barbara Barnes Golden and husband, Lynn, of Charleston, S.C. and Lisa Barnes Moore of Mooresboro; a son-in-law, Dennis Phillips; two brothers, Garmon Barnes and Gill Barnes, both of Cliffside; two sisters, Rosa Lee Goforth and Joyce Norman, both of Cliffside; five grandchildren, Tim Phillips, Tyler Moore, Drake Moore, Grayson Golden and Wills Golden; and a great-grandson, Caleb Phillips.
A graveside service will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Ernie Cole officiating.
The family will receive friends tonight at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home from 7 to 9.
