Gottlieb Sackman was born November 27, 1892, the son of Johannes and Christine Sackman, in Ashley ND. He attended rural schools in the Ashley area. The family moved to the Fallon Flat area in 1910, where they homesteaded. Mr Sackman entered the US Army in 1918, returning to Fallon after is discharge from service. On January 15, 1920 Gottlieb Sackman married Katherina Stickel in Terry. She preceded him in death in July 1976. The couple farmed at Fallon until their 1948 retirement when they moved into Terry and the son, Isidor, took over the family farm. The couple move into Friendship Villa in 1976. Mr Sackman passed away October 5, 1981 at the Friendship Villa Care Center in Miles City, following an illness of two years.
