Berta Knecht, long time resident of Sparks, Nevada, died January 11, 2012 at the young age of 89. Born December 22, 1922 in Golden Pond, Kentucky to parents, George and Effy Joyce.
She led a long, wonderful, though often difficult life and will be missed by her children and grandchildren and the wonderful friends whom she had grown to love.
Berta was a very strong, independent, woman who raised 5 children on her own. She enjoyed her work at places including the old Riverside Hotel and Dick Grave's Nugget.
Berta was preceded in death by her husband, William Knecht and her son, John Alberti.
