Ruthie Jane was 33 years old when she passed away at her family home in Lukfata, Oklahoma after suffering from tuberculosis for several months. She was proceeded in death by her first husband Jessie Bryant Ward and survived by their children, Abbie Lena Ward, Lois Marie Ward, Loyd Emmett Ward, Jessie Bryant Ward, Jr., and Doyle Edward Ward. She was also survived by her second husband Henry Edward Kennedy. Ruthie was buried in the Holly Creek Cemetery located in McCurtian County just outside of Broken Bow, Oklahoma. According to her obituary services were conducted by Rev. E. O. Wright of Idabel and Rev. L. O. Walden of Broken Bow, Burial was under the direction of Skaggs Funeral Home in Idabel. There is no marker on her grave.
