 Mr John Gay, an old colonist, died yesterday. He arrived in the colony in 1862, and shortly afterwards started the livery stables afterwards known as Page's, at the corner of Cashel and Manchester Streets, nearly on the same spot upon which Mr J. 0. Delamain's stables now stand. Mr Gay was very well known in the city, but has been out of business for some years, He was in failing health for some time, and died at his residence. Brougham Street, Sydenham, yesterday, at the age of fifty-seven years.
