Margaret Snow Wade died peacefully in her sleep Friday, June 10, 2011. She was born August 11, 1914 and was the second daughter of Fayette Clark Snow and Ollie Pritchard Snow. Wade, Jr., Dr. Carolyn W. Ford; grandchildren, Julie Wade Aderhold and her husband, Keith, John Paul Ford, Susan Elaine Wade, J. Paul Wade, III, and great grandson, Joshua Ryan Aderhold; sisters Eleanor Snow Martin, Fanny Snow Ragan, Sarah Snow O'Neal, Ina Snow Smith and brother-in-law, Bud Smith; sister-in-law Eloise Wade Blaker Shepherd, and numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was a graduate of Central High School (now Southwest DeKalb) and Georgia State College for Women (now Georgia College), class of 1934. Her working career primarily was as a teacher with the DeKalb County School System, but her life's calling and love was as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Outside her love for Paul, and her family, her church was a vital and significant part of her life. She grew up in the Ousley Methodist Church in Decatur, but joined the Presbyterian Church shortly after her marriage and actively participated in Women's Organizations and served as a Sunday school teacher in several congregations. At her death she was the oldest member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Stone Mountain, where she has worshipped with three generations of her family since 1973. A Worship service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 5801 Hugh Howell Road, Stone Mountain, Georgia 30087. Officiating will be Dr. John H. Roark. Contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund at Eastminster Presbyterian Church or Agape Hospice Care Inc., 5825 Glenridge Drive, Building #4, Suite 200, Atlanta, GA 30328. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM Saturday, June 11, 2011 at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Directors.
