on August 17, 2013:

Donnavan 'Don' Martin, age 75, of Shakopee, died on August 16, 2013. He was born on November 24, 1937, to Roscoe and Bernette (Schuette) Martin, in Stewart, Minnesota. Don was a graduate of Shakopee High School and Minnesota Business College, he then served 2 years in the United States Army. In 1963 Don was appointed Scott County Assessor by the State of Minnesota, a position he held for 33 years until his retirement. Don was an active member for 12 years in the Shakopee Rotary Club, and served on the Youth Foreign Exchange Program. Since 1979, Don has voluntarily managed Valley Cemetery in Shakopee. A position he was very proud of.
Don's interests were his farm located in Renville County, his hosta garden, going to auctions, his 2 sheltie collies, but most important were his nephew, niece, great-nephew and 2 great-nieces.
Don is survived by his sister, Roxanne (Robert) Jackelen; nephew, Scott Jackelen; niece, Tanya (Nate) Stadler; great-nephew, Gavin; 2 great-nieces, Emily and Amber Stadler, all of Shakopee; and many wonderful friends and cousins. Don was preceded in death by brother, DuWayne (1979), father, Roscoe (1996); mother, Bernette (2012).
Services: Funeral Services Saturday, August 24, 2013, 11:00 AM, held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 119 West 8th Avenue, Shakopee. Officiating is the Reverend Randall J. Romsdahl. Interment Valley Cemetery.
Visitation: Visitation Saturday August 24, 2013, from 9:30-10:45 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church.
Memorials: The family prefers memorials to St. John's Lutheran Church, Shakopee, or Valley Cemetery.
