Secondina GARBACCIO GARBACCIO GRONDA was my paternal great grandmother. She was known as Secondina GARBACCIO in the USA but according to her birth record it states that her full name was "Emilia Maria Secondina GARBACCIO". Her parents were Felicita FURNO and Antonio GARBACCIO of Pistolesa, Biella, Piemonte, ITALY (Note: The village of Pistolesa now belongs to the municipality of Mosso, in the province of Biella, region Piemonte.). Pistolesa is listed as Secondina's birthplace on her 1887 marriage certificate.
Secondina came to the US in 1887 and married her first husband, Ercole GARBACCIO (same surname as Secondina but not related), who was born in Mosso Santa Maria, Biella, Piedmonte, ITALY. Ercole had immigrated to the US earlier. They were married in May 1887 in West Hoboken, Hudson Co, NJ. Legally she was Secondina GARBACCIO GARBACCIO.
Sadly Ercole died in 1894 leaving behind Secondina and their 3 children, Henry, born in 1888, Angelina, born in 1890 and Gelsomino, born in 1894. In May of 1903 Secondina married Quintino GRONDA and became Secondina GARBACCIO GARBACCIO GRONDA. Quintino GRONDA died in 1942. They had two of their own GRONDA children: Nino, born in 1905 and Elizabeth (Betty) born in 1906.
