He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran and a member of Dumfries United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Anderson; two sons, James W. Anderson Jr. of Manassas and Harvey C. Anderson and his wife, Betty, of Falmouth; three sisters, Christine Buffaloe of Triangle, Ruth Willard of Woodbridge and Delores Gough of Triangle; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Maxine Anderson.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 15, in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
