Mary Nelle Baxley Payne, 77, of Andrews, died Thursday, March 8, 2007, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Graveside services will be Friday, March 9, 2007, at 4 p.m. at Andrews Memorial Cemetery. McKenzie Funeral Home, Andrews Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Payne was born June 26, 1929, in Hemingway, a daughter of the late Cleveland Thomas Baxley and Kitty Davis Baxley.

She was a former dietician supervisor from Georgetown Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Pine Crest Baptist Church and attended Bethel United Methodist Church.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Walter Payne Sr. and 11 siblings, Pearline B. Eaddy, Waldo Baxley, Mae B. Cox, Davis Baxley, Dick Baxley, Lucille Humphries, Lerion B. Morris, C.T. Baxley, Sara Louise Baxley, Emma Lou B. Matter and Connie Baxley.

Surviving are a son, Robert Walter Payne Jr. of Andrews; a daughter, Gail P. Ackerman of Andrews; three grandchildren, Bob Payne, Walter Ackerman and Wade Ackerman; and a great-grandchild, Andrew Ackerman
