Hansard, Jr., James S. (Jim), age 66, passed away at home surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 after a battle with cancer.

Jim attended Rule and Fulton High Schools and then joined the US Army where he served two years.

He served an apprenticeship with TVA as a heavy equipment operator and later began his career with Rust Engineering working at Y-12, Union Carbide, Lockhead Martin Energy Systems at X-10 in Oak Ridge and retired from Cureton-Hodges Company.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, James Hansard, Sr.; grandparents, Claude B. and Lillie M. Hansard; special friends, Margaret Lewis and Gisela Regas.

Survivors include daughter, Melissa F. Warwick; mother, Ethelene M. Hansard; sister, Sandra Wright (Larry) of Brookville, Ohio; very special friend, Reno Jones and a host of other special friends to many to mention individually.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Kenneth and Pat with Ability Nursing for their loving care.

Family will receive friends from 12 Noon – 2 PM Saturday, August 17, 2013, in the Chapel of Weaver Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 2 PM. Rev. Wayne Hubbs officiating.

Following the service, family and friends will proceed in procession to Highland Memorial Cemetery for the interment service.

Memorials may be made to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice, 3615 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. Knoxville, TN 37914.
