Obituary of Thomas Reeves; Wilmington Advocate, Friday May 26 1882, Pg 3, Col 5, bottom;

On Monday evening last, Thos. Reeves, an old and respected resident of this place, died very suddenly from heart disease, probably at the residence of his daughter Mrs. E Cushing. The news spread rapidly and was found to be only too true. Mr. Reeves was born in Limerick, Ireland, in 1816; came to America and settled in Albion, New York in 1849; remained there in business three years during which time his wife died. He removed then to Joliet, where he remained one year and came thence to this place in 1853, settling down in business and here he has resided since, though not in active business life for the past fourteen years. The deceased served on our village board of trustees in 1860 or thereabouts and was a man of unusual intelligence. Four married daughters and one son survive him and were all present at his obsequies on Wednesday last, on which occasion a solemn requiem mass was sung at St Rose's in presence of a large attendance. Mr Reeves enjoyed uniform good health until quite recently in fact, but a very few days ago when he began to fail quite visibly and when the dark angel came, he came swift as an arrow, unerring in its mark.

(Wife:Mary (?) Reeves-died in New York State)
Children: Catherine "Katie", Ann, Mary, John, Patrick & Sarah
