Brendel, Theodore Leo, 95, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Suncoast Hospice Care Center South Pinellas. Born in Ellis, Kansas, he came here in 1993 from Chicago, IL where was retired after 50 years as a floral designer for Shapiro & Daskal. He was a Army veteran having served in the infantry in both the European and Pacific Theaters during WWII. He was a member of St. Mary's Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in St. Petersburg, FL. He was a member of the Holy Name Society. He was preceded in death by wife of 52 years, Ethel Healy Brendel; his parents, Michael and Clementine Brendel; his brothers, Fred and Michael Brendel; and his sisters, Matilda Campbell and Virginia Brendel. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara M. O'Dell of St. Petersburg, FL; his son, William T. Brendel of Twin Lakes, WI; his son, Robert D. (Judy) Brendel of Davenport, FL; his daughter, Mary E. Brendel of Kingsport, TN: a sister, Jeanette Walczyk of Chicago, IL; six grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 9AM - 10AM Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, where a funeral mass will be 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in his name to Suncoast Hospice Foundation and My Warriors Place. Anderson McQueen FH
