ABSTRACT Died 5/10/1905. "George Thomas Crissman was born in Mifflin county, Pennsylvania, May 26, 1836. He leaves a widow, Mrs. Augusta E., two daughters, Miss Mary, of this city and Mrs. H.W. Sperry of Sherman NY and four brothers, three of whom reside at Manchester, Ohio and one at Chicago. Dr. Crissman has been with the ministry for 37 years.

From the May 11, 1905 Los Angeles Herald:
LONG BEACH, May 10.— Rev. George T. Crissman, assistant pastor of the First Presbyterian church of this city, dropped dead at 3:40 this afternoon in front of the house at 505 Cedar avenue, into which he was about to move. The minister was helping a baggage man carry a trunk into the house when he suddenly dropped his end and exclaimed "Put me on a bed, please." He then fell to the ground and expired almost immediately. Dr. John O. Chaftee of this city was summoned, but was too late. Death was due to heart disease, aggravated by the strain of lifting the trunk.
Rev. Mr. Crissman came here from Pittsburgh, Pa., last fall, intending to lead a retired life. He was elected assistant pastor of the Presbyterian church about a month ago, and the same evening the pastor, Rev. H. B. Cage, presented his resignation because of 111-health. Since that time Rev. Mr. Crissman has been acting pastor, he was 60 years of age and is survived by a widow and daughter.
