Bonnie Funda, 87, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Monday, July 21, 2003 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Bonnie Dell Brannan, of Scotch-Irish descent, was born May 24, 1916 in Jamestown, the daughter of Clyde M. and Dell A. (Knapp) Brannan. She grew up in Jamestown, attended school here and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1936. She went on to further education at the Chillicothe Business College in Missouri and graduated in 1941.

Bonnie married Robert W. Funda on October 25, 1945 in Jamestown and they made their home in Jamestown. Robert died in April 1993. She worked as a teller at the James River National Bank and was a secretary for the St. James Catholic Church, now the Basilica of St. James, Jamestown.

She enjoyed her bridge clubs, playing golf, watching sports on TV and music concerts. Her quick wit and sense of humor made her many friends.

Bonnie was a member of the Basilica of St. James, Our Lady of Rosary Circle, Hillcrest Women's Golf Assn., VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary, all of Jamestown.

Bonnie is survived by two daughters, Mary Ellen (John Patrick) Dewey of Sandstone, MN and Dr. Ann Marie Funda (Hal K. Stone) of Virginia Beach, VA, two grandsons, Dr. Paul Robert (Dr. Bridget) Dewey, Moose Lake, MN and Dr. Daniel Patrick (Angela) Dewey, Santa Rosa, CA, one great-grandson, Benjamin Patrick Dewey and one brother, Clyde (Phyllis) Brannan, Newport Beach, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Ralph, as a young child.
