She was born on May 23, 1933 to the late Harry and Gertrude Fochtman in Petoskey, Mich. Pearl graduated from Petoskey High in 1952 and met a young National Guardsman from Mansfield, Ohio at the local roller skating rink. After graduation, she moved to Mansfield and married Lloyd B. Pearl worked for the Mansfield Telephone Co. in 1953, then stayed home to raise her four children, twins, Lynn (Joe) Wechter of Shelby and Linda (Bill) Crockett of Lexington and two sons, Michael (Debi) Murphy of Bucyrus and Mark (Terri) Murphy of Palm Harbor, Fla. Lloyd and Pearl moved to Bucyrus in 1958 where Pearl worked for the Bucyrus City Schools as an attendance officer, secretary and librarian for 25 years from 1968-1993. She was involved in many organizations over the years including Mother of Twins Club, Boy Scout den mother, Rainbow Girls advisor, Eastern Star Worthy Matron, Bucyrus Hospital TWIG #2 and she was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church.

She and Lloyd vacationed each summer for 25 years near her hometown on Douglas Lake, Mich. She loved to read, do jigsaw and crossword puzzles, crafts and plant colorful flowers and collect trinkets to decorate her lawn and flower beds. She was known for the homemade wood crafts she made and sold at craft fairs.
