Mrs. Prosper Dubois. nee Julia Barras daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Barras, was born In the town of Humboldt. Brown County. June 5, 1858. and at the time of her death had reached the age of 68 years, 4 months, and 5 days. She had made her home in the town of Humboldt until her marriage to Prosper Dubois. which was solemnized on December 11, 1880 in the Catholic church at New Franken.
This happy union was blessed with ten children, four having preceded their mother to death.
The deceased was very well known throughout this vicinity and was one of the oldest residents of Tonet. Since her marriage she had made her home on a 120 acre farm at Tonet upon which she passed away.
Surviving are her husband and six children, namely. Desire Dubois of Tonet; Joseph Dubois of Walhain; Mrs. Adel Lardinois of Champion; Mrs. Agnes Dennis and Henry Dubois who reside at home; Louis Dubois of Duvall. Suriving are also one Sister. Mrs. Desire Collard of the town of Scott and 27 grand children.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at ten o'clock from the St. Martin's Catholic church. Reverend L. A. Dobbeleteen officiated at the last sad rites. Interment took place in the parish cemetery nearby.
The death of Mrs. Dubois removes from the community a devoted wife and mother who was loved and respected for the fine qualities of character and personality which she possessed.
