Wilma Jean Pierce, 70, of Spiceland, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, Aug. 12,2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Aug. 27,1942 in Monticello, KY, a daughter of the late Johnnie and Lovie (Huckaby) Huckeby.

Wilma attended schools in Spiceland and New Castle. a life-long homemaker, Wilma enjoyed attending the Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church in Dublin with her family and testifying to what God had done for her. She enjoyed making crafts, cooking, baking, fishing, gardening and harvesting the food from her garden. She retired from Chrysler Corp after 11 years of service. Wilma was a wonderful wife to her husband, Charley, as well as a wonderful mother to Lisa and Kurt and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of almost 52 years, Charley Pierce; a son, Kurt (wife: Laura) Pierce of New Castle; a daughter, Lisa Pierce of Spiceland; three grandchildren, Kyle Pierce of Spiceland, Kim (husband: David) Merchand of New Castle and Ashley Ingram of New Castle and six great-grandchildren, Katie Dawn, Drake Douglas, Alexis Grace, Miley Nichole, Ethan Scott and Keyan Xander.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, an infant son, Tony Allen Pierce and two sisters, Wanda Huckeby and Betty Huckeby.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16,2013 at Sproles Family Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Reynold officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition.
