She was born June 18, 1896, in Des Moines county, the daughter of William and Mary Kennedy McElhinney. On February 24, 1944, she was married to Ralph Baird in Des Moines county.
She was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian church in Morning Sun.
Surviving: One daughter, Mrs. Warren Durst, Muscatine; four sons, Phillip, DeKalb, Illinois, James, Davenport, Lloyd, Cedar Rapids, Don, North Liberty; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lillian Gregory, Morning Sun; two brothers, Martin and Ernest, both of Morning Sun.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Reformed Presbyterian church with Dr. G. M. Robb officiating. Burial was at Sharon cemetery.
