Ramona M. Aguiniga, 94, Box Elder, SD passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Ramona was born to Pedro and Josephia (Valencia) Duarte on June 18, 1919 in Santa Anna, CA. She married Salvador "Sam" Aguiniga on September 30, 1945 in Oceanside, CA. Ramona and Sam located to EAFB in July of 1983.
Ramona was a member of the Catholic Church.
Ramona enjoyed traveling in their motorhome, wintering in Arizona, and riding their three wheel motorcycle. They enjoyed attending the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally for many years and were part of many publications.
Ramona loved trips to Deadwood. She loved crocheting, handiwork, and playing computer games. Her cooking will be missed by all. If you came over hungry, you left full, either in your heart or your belly.
She welcomed everyone, you were received with a hug and you left with a hug.
Survivors include her sons, Charley (Delores) Cordova, Fallbrook, CA, John (Gloria) Aguiniga, Rapid City; daughter, Martha Fester, Sioux Falls, SD; sons-in-law, Roland Becker, Ft. Collins, CO, George Richey, Johnstown, CO; twenty grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; as well as one niece, Teresa Preciaeo; and one nephew, Jose Nares.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Nicholas Cordova and Sam Aguiniga (both war vets); two daughters, Rachel Richey and Mary Jane Becker; and Sister Aurora Nares.
Visitation will be at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 5pm to 7pm with a Christian Wake Service starting at 7pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am on Friday, August 16, 2013 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rapid City with Fr. Nathan Sparks as celebrant. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
