Mrs. Rhodebank's Funeral

Butte, Sept. 12--The funeral of Mrs. Rhodebank was held yesterday afternoon from the First Presbyterian church with burial in Butte cemetery. The funeral was largely attended by the friends of the deceased. Mrs. Rhodebank's maiden name was Mary Quinn. She was born in Brown county, Indiana, in 1843, where she lived with her parents until 1855. She then moved to Benton county, Iowa, and on Oct. 18, 1866 was married to William P. Rhodebank in at Vinton, Iowa, remaining there about two years. In 1868, she moved to Newton, Iowa, and in 1870 to Missouri Valley Junction, and the following year to Ophir, Utah. Here the family made their home for six years, forming many happy and lasting friendships. Following the tide of mining adventure, they next moved to the Black Hills, S.D., where they remained until 1884, and then removed to Butte. With the exception of a short time that they lived in Philipsburg, Mont., they have resided here ever since, and where Mrs. Rhodebank died at her home on Sept. 9, 1894, in her 51st year.

There was one son, Harry, born to them, who is now with his father, living in Vinton, Iowa. Three sisters and one brother survive her. Mrs. Rhodebank was of a retiring disposition and found her chief pleasure in her home circle and in the exercise of her natural artistic talent in painting, many specimens of her work adorning her home. She was reared in the Presbyterian faith, her mother being one of the early members of the First Presbyterian church of Vinton, Iowa, and though not a member herself, she was a firm believer and in her last illness sought the consolation of religion.
