Verna "Helen" Davies Kesler
1929 - 2013

Father: Henry LeRoy Davies
Mother: Alverna Robison Davies
Spouse: Dave Kesler
Married: 12 Feb 1947 | 65 years
Later Sealed: Manti LDS Temple
Early Life: Born the fourth daughter of her parents on their 12th wedding anniversary, Helen grew up helping her dad on the farm. Summers were spent at the farm and winters, at their house in town where the children attended school.
Education: Millard High School
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Helen graduated from high school in 1947 at the age of 17. Earlier that year, on Feb. 12, she married her sweetheart, Dave Kesler, who was just home from the war. Helen and Dave lived at Cove Fort, Utah, where the Kesler family ranch was. Two children, Kaylin and David II, were born while they lived there. In 1957, the family moved to a ranch north of Philipsburg that they purchased. Later, another child, Nick, was added to the family. Ranching was hard work and Helen worked alongside Dave outside riding for cattle, branding, helping with the hay and had a love for horses that lasted throughout her life. She cooked wonderful food for hay crews, family and traveling salesmen. She found time to pursue personal interests such as sewing, knitting, family history, and she loved spending time with her family and friends. Helen worked for a time as a cook in the Granite County Hospital and then as a nurse's aide. In the 1960s and early 70s, she worked in the courthouse as the selective service secretary. Her husband, Dave Kesler, preceded her in death Aug. 26, 2012. She wasn't one to be away from him too long. Verna Helen Davies Kesler quietly returned to her Father in Heaven on July 24, 2013, at her home surrounded by her children. She was 83.
