Funeral services for Bro. Herbert Summers, 74, of Winona will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Winona Garden of Memory. Rev. George Hearn and Rev. Al Williamson will officiate the services.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. until service time, at Oliver Funeral Home.
Bro. Summers died of heart failure at Winona Manor in Winona on Sunday, August 11.
Bro. Summers was the son of the late L. B. and Ethel Lee Stephens Summers. He was a disabled pastor, businessman, and former mayor of Winona. Bro. Summers was a member and the former pastor of Cornerstone Full Gospel Faith Fellowship in Winona.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Dean Ellis Summers of Winona; two daughters, Lady Nix of Winona and Theresa Sproles of Winona; one son, Jeff Summers of Winona; one brother, Grady Summers of Vaiden; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James Barry Carpenter, Wilson Sproles, B. J. Summers, Ben Ingram, Bryan Holmes, and Justin Summers.
