This is all the information I have on James KeenJames Lacy Keen was born in Tiptonville, Tennessee in April 1899, to Joseph G. (Jack) Keen and Cordelia Carrington Keen. He never really knew the exact day of his birth, so we just celebrated it on the 25th of April. His siblings were Cora Keen, Willie Washington Keen (Bill) and Robert (Bob) McKenley Keen. His father Joseph Keen died around 1903, when Lacy was around 3 or 4 and his mother Cordelia married S. J. Cunningham and had three more children with him. Leroy, Etta and John Cunningham. Cordelia died June 15, 1919 when Lacy Keen was 20 years old. They lived in a little community near Luxora, Arkansas where he met his first wife, Maggie Stevens. Lacy and Maggie had three childen, Robert Whitfield Keen, Louise Keen and James Edward Keen. Maggie died at age 28 about 1933. Lacy Keen married Mary Lee Dollahite in 1945. They had three children, Rosemary Keen Bryan, Lester Carl Keen and Libby Keen. Lacy worked at the Chicago Mill Lumber Company until he retired in 1964. About a year before he retired he purchased an acre of land and cleared it himself by hand. He then started building a house by himself. He finished the home about a year after he retired. He loved staying busy and working outside. He enjoyed fishing, especially for catfish. He raised a garden and grew strawberries and sold them. In the evening he liked to sit and read his bible. He was tall with blue eyes, a quiet man and very hard working.
