Colonel Henry Chester PARSONS was a lawyer who dealt in real estate. He support the liberal views. He moved to Roanoke, Virginia in about 1867.

He served as a Captain in the 1st Vermont Cav. during the Civil War.

He was shot to death at Clifton Forge, Virginia and he is buried along side his wife, Ellen on their property at Natural Bridge, Rockbridge County, Virginia.

There children were Katherine Loomis PARSONS; Grace PARSONS; and Maud PARSON.
